  New Build House

Artform Architects were commissioned by
a client in York to design a new build
detached house for the large garden plot
  adjacent to their existing house.

The new house had to sit on a tight,
traingular plot with shared access and be
designed to maximise natural light and the
  south-facing aspect without overlooking the
  neighbouring properties.

The design of the new build house takes its
form and scale from the existing context of
  post-war 1950's semi-detached houses but
uses a combination of vertical timber cedar
cladding, white painted render and slate tiles
to give the design a more contemporary
feel. The efficient layout allows for open
plan living and dining space with 3 double
  bedrooms and a master en-suite.  A planning
application was submitted to York council.
